The efficient design and operation of 'medium' data centres - between 250kW and 2.5 MW in total facility power requirement - brings with it its own challenges of design, operation and optimisation. While market attention has traditionally been focused on very large, flagship projects, the medium data centre represents for many EMEA organisations their principal IT facility and therefore the core of their mission-critical business.

• Have a facility power requirement in the range 250 KW to 2.5 MW
• Have started operation since 1st September 2010 or due to be operational by 31st December 2011

• Evidence of success in meeting IT, corporate & engineering objectives including those relating specifically to facility performance and delivery (25%)
• Best practice in evaluating and deciding on M&E options to ensure objectives are met (25%)
• Development & implementation of processes for measuring and analyzing delivery (25%)
• Capability of project to act an examplar to the wider market in relation to the issues of the medium data centre (25%).
