This Award recognises the achievement of Government and public sector IT-focused initiatives, projects and strategies in meeting both the requirements of clients and publics and organizational/policy-driven objectives. The winner will join those successful in previous years in demonstrating an attention to sound technology and engineering, best practice in project/team management and the leadership required to bring together the disparate groups inside and outside Government necessary to deliver the required end result.

- Be located in EMEA
- Be conducted in conjunction with or on behalf of Government departments, agencies, commissions, business units at either the national, local or international level
- Have started operation since 1st September 2010 or be due to come into operation by 31st December 2011.
Entries may be submitted by consulting engineers, contractors, and vendors working in conjunction with Government entities as previously defined.
- The incorporation of design, construction and/or management/operation as the key focus of the project or initiative (10%)
- The success of project or initiative in improving Government services to the public or other stated stakeholder group AND in meeting organizational/policy driven objectives in terms of performance, energy efficiency and cost delivery (50%)
- The development & implementation of processes for measuring and analysing delivery and for ensuring best practice in operation and resource management (20%)
- The capability of the project to act an examplar to the public/Government sector (20%).
- Design, construction or retrofit of data centre
- Developing whole of operation management or engineering strategies
- Developing operational and management strategies for existing data centres
- Developing and implementing policies in regard to existing data centres, particularly in response to the requirements of the EU Code of Conduct or other relevant and recognized codes of best practice.
