The large US fast-food restaurant chain Del Taco has chosen Phoenix NAP’s data center in Phoenix as the location for its disaster-recovery infrastructure, the data center services provider said Tuesday.
Phoenix NAP said key factors in Del Taco’s decision to use the facility were its modern features and the security measures employed there.
Commenting on the deal, Phoenix NAP president Ian McClarty said the data center was good for disaster recovery (DR) and for primary infrastructure because of its location.
“Residing in one of the safest-from-natural-disaster cities in the United States, our facility is an ideal location for both primary and disaster recovery services, and we look forward expanding our relationship with Del Taco,” McClarty said.
Still, Phoenix NAP said it continued to be a prime location for DR, as the likelihood of an earthquake, hurricane or major flooding was “minimal to non-existent.”
Phoenix NAP provides colocation and hosting services at its data center and has recently added an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering.
The 160,000 sq ft facility currently has about 90,000 sq ft of raised floor, according to the company’s website. Four 10MW utility feeds are plugged into it to supply its power capacity.
The data center’s customers are served by 19 carriers.
